Spreading their unique style of soul-infused hip hop since 1987, The Roots have done it again, releasing their latest album “Undun” on December 6th, 2011. The group’s thirteenth studio album comes with 14 tracks and follows a very “soulful” tempo as you progress. The feel is wonderfully light with deep lyrics and a nice change of tone from track to track. Production is mainly handled by band member ?uestlove, with smaller contributions by other band members. The songs are nice and short, and the longest (coming in at 4 minutes and some change) will have you caught-up and wanting more.

The use of actual instruments, a trademark of the group, really comes out in this album and makes for easy listening. The lyrics are also fairly mild, yet are also deep, thought provoking and something that almost everyone can get into. ‘Undun’ has been highly rated, and if you’re looking for a change of pace from the perpetual holiday music hell-hole, check this album out! You can get your copy of ‘Undun’ at any major music retailer, and it is also available on Spotify.
